Leaders, Let's Cut the Noise
As leaders, whether you're a rainmaker leading your team, a solo agent on ALC, or a MC leader, our job isn't just to manage activities—it's to shift the perspective of those we lead. Right now, the "noise" of the market is distracting. Here is how we win this week.
- The Mindset ~ From "Chaser" to "Advisor": Are you waiting for the seller's hands to go up? What if we get to them first? The average homeowner is sitting on over $300,000 per Keeping Current Matters, yet most feel "locked in" by their current rate. They aren't stuck; they just don't know their own net worth.
- The Leadership Angle: In your next team meeting or huddle, ask your agents: "How many of your clients know exactly how much capital they're sitting on?" Coach them to lead with the wealth conversation, not the interest rate conversation.
- The Problem: The "Quantity" Trap. More leads don't always equal more profit. Many databases are growing, but conversion is dropping because the "touch" has become generic. An advisor offers specific value and who better to advise them of their wealth via real estate than you? You are an advisor, aren't you?
- The Solution: Use the Database Assessment Playbook to audit your database. Here's the challenging part: what's your criteria when auditing? In other words, do you purge and if so, who? Why? What if you audit your database and ouch…get ready for this to hurt; you find out some have moved and some may have made quite a few moves since your last touch. Would you like to really take on a challenge? Call those people to ask the hard question: do you still want to be in my database or have you chosen a new agent? Interesting responses would come your way, I'm sure.
Quality always beats a crowded, cold database. Add in an equity analysis, and now you're leading with insights into their money and moving from being a "Chaser" to an "Advisor".
The Bottom Line: When we simplify focus, confidence rises. Let's ignore the headlines and focus on the signal. What's the signal right now? It's the equity the sellers are sitting on. As advisors, it's our job, our responsibility even, to help them discover what to do with it!
